PortsToronto presents Sail-In Cinema™, the world’s first two-sided floating movie experience of its kind. In August, Canada’s Sugar Beach will transform into Toronto’s largest outdoor movie theatre over two nights. Movies will be shown under the open skies on a two-sided screen set atop a barge in Toronto Harbour. You can watch movies for free from Sugar Beach or Lake Ontario, and this year there are no tickets required to attend. Gates and pre-show activities beginning at 5:00 p.m. and the movie beginning at approximately 7:30 p.m. If you’ve got your sea legs, you can come to the movies by boat and drop anchor. If you’re a landlubber, bring a chair, a cushion or a picnic blanket. Think Sail-In Cinema™ sounds like an awesome event? You’re not the only one. Sail-In Cinema™ won Gold at Marketing Magazine’s Marketing Awards for best Experiential/Stunts/Events initiative of 2011 as well as Silver for best in Commercial Services at the Media Innovation Awards and a Certificate of Merit for advertising from The Advertising & Design Club of Canada in 2012.
