CHEER ON A HEROToronto is hosting the Invictus Games from September 23 to 30. Latin for “unconquered,” invictus “is about shining a light on the unconquerable character of servicemen and women and their families,” said Prince Harry, who started the games in 2014. Be there as 550 competitors from 17 countries demonstrate the true spirit of invictus. DALI IN YORKVILLEA curated selection of fashion-focused works by famed artist, Salvador Dalí, is on display September 7 to 30 in Yorkville Village shopping centre. As part of Toronto Fashion Week, the exhibition features works by the surrealist master never before seen in North America including sculptures, paintings and designer dresses. JAZZ IN KENSINGTONScattered throughout one of the funkiest and most unique neighbourhoods in Toronto, the Kensington Market Jazz Festival, is back for a second year and runs from September 15 to 17. Led by local jazz diva, Molly Johnson, the fest features all Toronto musicians from a range of jazz-tinged styles in 9 different venues. LOOK UP IN THE SKY!The Canadian International Air Show takes over the skies above Toronto from September 2 to 4. The thrilling performers include the likes of the Breitling Jet Team, a CF-18 Hornet and our favourites, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, flying in close formation. The show can be viewed from the Exhibition grounds on the lakeshore or better yet from a boat out on the water.
