Since the 1970s, American artist Dale Chihuly has revolutionized the art of sculpture through turning glassworks into large-scale installations. The Royal Ontario Museum is hosting a seven-month exhibition of Chihuly’s work, featuring some of his most impressive pieces.
Chihuly first started experimenting with glassblowing in his mid-twenties, and he co-founded the Pilchuck Glass School in 1971 in Washington State. Despite a car accident that left him permanently blind in one eye and a dislocated shoulder in a body-surfing mishap, he has continued to create unique and beautiful work for decades.
